It is true that a lot has been said and written about why and how women are suppressed and how their feelings, thoughts, and even dreams & desires go unfulfilled, burnt deep inside their hearts. These heavy hearts are often talked about on various platforms. Riya Sinha, Founder of Fuzia, visualized the concept of Fuzia while studying at Palo Alto High School, California, as an 11-year-old.
But how often do we give our women a chance to express all that they have – be it their hidden talent, desire to do something creative, or learn and acquire a new skill to make a career? The team of Fuzia has been working since 2012, making this happen instead of just mentioning what women couldn’t do amid all the pressures. They believe in making a difference and celebrating individuals and their passions & dreams. Today Shraddha Verma, co-founder of Fuzia, shares with us the journey of this platform, its vision, initiatives, philosophy, and much more.
The onset of the beautiful journey
As a child, Riya Sinha always loved creative writing, so much so that she wrote creative endings of books when she wasn’t satisfied with the end! Riya loved writing stories, so with the help of a family friend, she wrote a book called ‘Runaway Twins.’ She thought of the plot primarily by herself, just using her imagination. It was about a pair of twins who solve a family mystery to help save their family.
Later, reading her book, a 6-year-old girl came up to her with utmost exhilaration to tell Riya that she was inspired to write a book and made her realize her true calling. The incident seeded so deep in Riya and made her experience the potential of inspiration.
She wanted to influence all the girls and women around the world to get inspired by each other. Thus, in 2012 she started Fuzia as a Writing club, a platform for school girls to share their writings and essays.
It is now fuzia.com, a venture that grew from 2 to 45 team members with the central vision of influencing and empowering creative females globally.
The core philosophy
The core philosophy behind Fuzia is to empower women by providing a platform that lets them present their ideas and talent to the world. We seek to celebrate women and their creative zeal so that they can live their dreams. With the talent that many women come up with, we aspire to be of their economic benefit and then place the right skill at the right place. Our mission henceforth is to uplift fraternities through the power of our global community.
We at Fuzia have built a solid global community that encourages the fusion of culture and ideas. Around the world, we see women suppressing their creative selves. They have been seen to have a lack of knowledge on how to bring their talents to use. Our vision is to make sure that the creativity of our audience is built to the core and no talent goes in vain. We seek to find talent and build a learning and education platform to nurture it through live sessions, campaigns, online learning, webinars, workshops, experiential learning, and contests. These initiatives help our audience develop their skills and grow enormously.
As a group of individuals, we look ahead to attaining pillars of creative empowerment, community growth, individual strength, and artistic magnification. We aspire to establish a space for women where they can express themselves with true liberty. We believe that a society where women are strengthened can be described as an empowered society in reality.
About Founder of Fuzia: Riya Sinha
Riya Sinha was 11 years old when she witnessed the concept of Fuzia while studying at Palo Alto High School, California. Currently, Riya is entering her 2nd year at UC Berkeley, California, and dedicates part-time to Fuzia. Riya focuses more on initiatives such as Fuzia. TV (videos and interviews of influential women) helps gain partnerships with other companies to support Public Relations for Fuzia. She also promotes PR for Fuzia on all types of platforms.
Accolades and achievements
Various esteem platforms have featured Fuzia, such as Riya Sinha (Founder), awarded “Iconic Teen Entrepreneur and Innovator” at Women Economic Forum. She has also been invited to TED Sonoma County, where she shared her story and called out for women to believe in themselves and achieve their dreams.
Moreover, Shraddha Varma (Co-Founder) received the “Young leader creating a better world” award in 2018.
It has also been featured in various esteemed publications such as the Forbes, Hindustan Times, Inter Press Service by the United Nations, and many more.

- Campaigns/Contests: we engage our members by hosting various campaigns and content to uplift their confidence and perform better tasks. It is a way to let them explore their creative niche.
- Fuzia Talent is Fuzia’s initiative to allow talented members to earn through suitable work assignments, internships, and projects, thereby making them economically empowered. While we continue doing our bit to empower Future Women Leaders, we also intend to do well for society by donating 5% of our revenue from projects towards the cause of upliftment and empowerment of women.

Working for a social cause
We have Fuzia.org, a Social Activism platform to enhance Fuzia’s vision to empower, educate and uplift women globally. It is a platform for local organizations and NGOs working towards causes related to education, women empowerment, upliftment of the unprivileged,
women’s health, acid attack victims, rape victims, betterment of the transgender community, and a lot more.
We have collaborated with various Indian and International NGOs such as Wishes and Blessings, Mantra4Change, Adventures in Preservation to raise funds for their projects in the field of education and health aimed at the Covid’19. The organization envisions to grow across regions, economies, and countries to alleviate the unprivileged in the society and address their basic needs.
Recently, we organized the most significant activity for its members, the ‘Art Contest for a Cause’ with a New Delhi-based NGO, to raise funds for the Covid Relief Project. The fundraiser initiative served three meals a day to 1,950 homeless and daily wagers (5,850 meals/day) and distributed daily ration kits to 3,050 at-risk families affected by the lockdown.
We even tried our best to motivate our members by organizing campaigns and contests such as ‘Fuzia Fighters,’ a creative awareness drive. In this, the members got to design a mask and showcase their style. We donated masks to the needy with each entry on the platform.
The Fuzia family has constantly been working towards standing with everyone in need for a better tomorrow!
A message for every woman who dares to dream
Inspired by the words of Maya Angelou, “Each time a woman stands for herself, without knowing it possibly, without claiming it, she stands up for all women.” I believe that it is essential for every woman to believe in herself to achieve her goals in today’s time.
Once you believe in yourself, you will never give up and achieve your goals with confidence.
