Tale of Creating World Records- Kuwar Amritbir Singh

Kuwar Amritbir Singh

Our youth is the hope of our future. Youth is our most significant power. The youth has done almost everything great in a way or another. However, it is essential to redirect their energy in the right direction. Otherwise, they’ll lose their path. They will start traveling on a different route that may lead them to distraction and destruction.

Kuwar Amritbir Singh understood the fact at a tender age. In his teen years, he had realized the meaning and importance of real success. That’s why he aimed higher and began to work hard to achieve the targeted goal.

At the age of 18, Kuwar Amritbir Singh is a two-times world record holder in fitness. He never used gym equipment, never had any guidance, never had any direction. He didn’t know much about fitness either. Despite all the odds, he made it possible, and credit goes to his strong willpower. We got connected to Kunwar Amritbir Singh to know more about his journey. Here is his story.

Kuwar Amritbir Singh – My Story

I’m Kuwar Amritbir Singh. I belong to Umarwala village near Gurdaspur (Punjab). I have a political background as my father and grandfather were in politics. It all started from my school days. During that time, I used to participate in school events in which I used to play the roles of Bhagat Singh or Kartar Singh and many more. Stories of these legends would inspire me a lot. Then I began reading motivational books and biographies. Reading brought a massive change in my daily life. It impacted my mindset, daily routines, and mental health positively.

After reading these biographies, I realized that I also want to do something meaningful with my life. I wanted people to recognize my name in the future. However, I didn’t know what I was supposed to do to make it happen. I was clueless as I wasn’t good with my studies. I was just mediocre and least interested in becoming the topper of my class. I wanted to do something different and creative. Something that I loved doing.

With these thoughts in my head, I was trying hard to find my goal. As I told you before, I wasn’t good with academics. In the 12th class, I failed in one subject. My family and teachers were disappointed with my result. I was also frustrated with myself.

Since childhood, I have been active in sports, and I have loved working out. When my results came, I skipped my practice for a month. It was a shameful situation as I couldn’t look into my parent’s eyes. My failure had hurt them a lot. So this shame boosted me to do something great with my life, and I decided to shape correctly, to work hard on my goal.

Firstly, I got over the failure by telling myself that this piece of paper could not decide my future. It’s okay, and it’s gone. I need to move on. Then at the age of 16, I started training and practicing at my home. In my state, no one had achieved the title of Youth Icon at such a young age, so I decided to aim for it.

To practice, I didn’t hit the gym but opted for home workouts. I never consumed protein to build up my body. Instead, I switched to traditional exercises and eating home-based healthy food. For working out, I didn’t use gym equipment, but I created them with the help of bricks, cement, and empty water bottles. I used this equipment for weight lifting and bodybuilding.

Time passed, and I was successful in building a lean but muscular posture. I had practiced a lot, so I was ready to break the world record. Then through online enrollment, I volunteered to break the world record of 89 knuckle pushups in one minute. I sent the video, but they rejected it by saying, ‘Amritbir, your body posture is not in the correct position. Try harder and then attempt again. Right now, we cannot consider your entry.’ This failure was a massive blow to my confidence and self-belief. It was least expected.

Then I convinced myself by saying, ‘It’s okay if they have rejected my entry. There must be something wrong with my posture. They are right, and I need to work hard to make it happen.’ I gathered myself, and I started preparing vigorously. I doubled my speed, noticed my posture. I was being careful with everything. After a while, I tried my luck again, and this time, I successfully broke the previous world record. I did 118 knuckle pushups in a minute.

Then I applied to many companies for sponsorship, but again they rejected me. I requested many people that I have talent, please invest in me, but they paid no heed, but I didn’t give up. I applied for the India Book of Records and broke another record by doing 35 superman pushups in 30 seconds.

After creating a second record, companies and media started giving me attention. Multiple corporate companies sponsored me. I was nominated for Karamveer Chakra Award. Post these achievements, I turned to social media, TV, and acting careers. I was among the top finalists of ‘Hunar Punjab Da’ aired on the PTC Punjabi Channel. Through social media, I was able to motivate people to turn to fitness. I help them in working out, overcoming their fears and laziness. I played the lead character in a short movie named ‘No Pain No Gain.’ That’s how the journey went.

Currently, I’m in contact with producers to sign my upcoming movies. I aim to fill the void in the Punjabi movie industry and take up the mantle of Punjab’s youngest hero. If I talk about my future goals, then I’d say I want to encourage youth to do something different and meaningful with their lives. I want to motivate people to take up a healthy lifestyle. Influencing the youth of India and especially Punjab are on my to-do list.

In the end, I want to say, ‘Always believe in yourself and never give up. It is better to keep trying than to regret it later. Don’t fear failures; they are part of the journey. Learn to live freely without any fears.’
