When Anil Kumar Discovered That Hard Work Is The Greatest Key To Success!

Hard work is the key to success. Anil Kumar discovered this key while shifting from one profession to the other and finally settling in the food business. Anil spent the early part of his life in poverty. His parents struggled to make ends meet. To add to the misery, Anil was not that interested in academics. He dropped out of school after the 8th grade. On the other hand, his sister was a quick learner.

Knowing that hard work is key to success, Anil Kumar didn’t waste time in leisure. He spent this time working in a grocery store. After working like this for some time, destiny took Anil to another job. For the next 7-8 years, Anil worked as a delivery boy. He delivered eggs to a wholesale shop. Next, he drove an auto. Anil did this too for a few years, but competition pushed him out of business.

Anil Kumar Entering The Food Business

On a friend’s advice, Anil stepped into the food business. He opened ‘Fun to Food.’ Here Anil Kumar serves Tandoori Rotis, Butter Naans, Phulka, and Fried rice. He started this with the idea that people should enjoy the food they like. The advice seems to have worked well for Anil. For the last two years, Fun to Food has had many happy customers. The business brought Anil and his family out of poverty. The man discovered for himself and proved to the world that hard work is the key to success.

However, the 32-year old entrepreneur wasn’t satisfied with providing food alone. He wanted his customers to taste a unique beverage from his kitchen – Tandoori Chai (tea), a good mix of Indian spices with tea, giving its drinkers a sweet-spicy taste. It is an organic drink with a powdered mix of cinnamon, asafoetida, black pepper, ginger, and cardamom.

Work Behind The Business

Like a good businessman, Anil did his research before entering the Tandoori Chai business. He traveled to Uttar Pradesh and Delhi to understand its make and taste. Anil has been serving Tandoori Chai to his customers for the last two years. Just like his food business, this Indian beverage, too, is a hit with people. His customers love it.

Anil started selling this tea for 15 rupees in the beginning. He wanted people in the south Indian market to get used to it first. Today, Anil earns 20 rupees for one cup of Tandoori Chai, and he sells 300 cups of this beverage per day. Anil brings the earthen containers to serve tea from Uttar Pradesh. But he hopes to start locally manufacturing them in Andhra Pradesh or Telangana so that people here can get employment. He earns about 30-40 thousand from his business. An income that gives Anil a comfortable life.

Anil believes that social media has a significant role in connecting businesses like his to customers. Ask him if he feels threatened by competition, and Anil laughs. He would happily encourage anyone who is trying to come up in this business. Since Anil knows the struggle of starting from scratch, he is more than happy to help.

Rock Solid Family Support

Looking back at life, Anil realizes the truth behind the saying, ‘Hard work is the key to success.’ A man, who was once frantically searching for work, can provide work to 2-3 families. Sadly, his sister, who saw him struggle throughout life, passed away just when he settled. Anil describes this as the saddest moment of his life.

Talking about his family, Anil says that his family has been immensely supportive all through his struggles. He says that the birth of his daughter brought him luck. After moving from one occupation to another and losing their firstborn child, the family was unfortunate. The birth of their daughter seems to have solved the problems of the family. Despite this, Anil continues to believe that hard work is the key to success. The rapport he shares with his customers is Anil Kumar’s most outstanding achievement. They have now become his extended family.

Anil Kumar’s incredible journey to success is a clear message to all of us that hard work is, indeed, the key to success!
